How Clients Benefit from Our Expertise in Manufacturing and Generator Monitoring

As an experienced and well-known manufacturer of industrial generators, we realise the importance of offering more than just generators for sale. Our clients often require installation, commissioning, monitoring, and servicing of their industrial generators. We have offered these to our existing clients for years. However, realising that most new clients need the same services, we have established our sister company called PacB Electech, which focuses on generator monitoring and servicing, enabling us to offer our clients everything they need to keep the power supply going.

When clients choose one of our power solutions and elect to have PacB Electech install the generator set, we provide an additional six months’ warranty on all the electric components. Clients thus have the assurance that every part of their generator set is made to last. Of course, ongoing generator monitoring helps spot potential problems, so immediate proactive steps can be taken to do repairs where needed. This also applies to monitoring fuel requirements.

What sets us apart from various other manufacturers of industrial generator sets is our ability to design and manufacture PLC-controlled designs, specifically for standby generators. We have extensive expertise in the manufacture of normal generator control systems such as ATS and AMS, in addition to the more advanced components needed for specific industry applications. We have experience in all the main controller brands related to generators, and we have the expertise to manufacture synchronous PLC-controlled panels, which are used for multi-station generator supply needs. PacB Electec and PacB Power Solutions have a proven track record in the building of various switching panels and a range of generators larger than 1000 kVA.

When clients make use of our power supply solutions, they also benefit from having an experienced and highly competent team available to complete any size installation, whether the generator set has been manufactured by us or another manufacturer. Our work meets existing electrical standards, ensuring safety at client sites and compliance with statutory requirements. In the rare instance that one of our generators breaks down, we are on standby repair it quickly. Clients have the assurance of quick and effective breakdown assistance, in addition to fast and accurate quotes on spares, should they need them.

Knowing the importance of uninterrupted power supply according to capacity requirements, we are available to assist clients even after hours. For us, it is important to ensure the safety of our clients and we do whatever it takes to ensure client safety. Apart from services such as repairs and generator monitoring, we offer generator refuelling assistance too. This service is client-specific, ensuring that, whenever they need quick refuelling, even if in the middle of the night, they can rely on us. To this end, we have a fleet of refuelling vehicles ready.

Clients furthermore benefit from our standard service level agreements that include four inspections per annum, but which can be changed to meet client needs. Upon such inspections, we assess whether the installed generator sets meet the required standards. Various tests are performed, and the sets cleaned. We report on our findings and steps taken to ensure proper operation. Clients opting for the SLAs also have access to a dedicated emergency line.

Part of our comprehensive service offering is the generator-monitoring device installation. The generator monitoring device is installed with the client set, providing for permanent communication with our generator monitoring centre at a small monthly fee. Clients can choose to have a mimic panel installed at their premises from where they can monitor and control the generator set without having to walk to where it is located. Finally, we offer the GSM that can be controlled from a smartphone app for optimal control over the generator set.
